shape. To this end GLOPORE IMS in association with DNV conducted a one day seminar in

Session-1 — Evolution of ITSM and ITIL®
This kick-off session focused on the evolution of ITSM, ITIL® and how the refresh was carried out. The speaker gave insights on the importance of updating best practices when industry matures from time to time. This session also discussed the key drivers and scope of the refresh and followed by a glance at the composition of the new version of ITIL®

Session-2 — ITIL® V2 and V3 — The key changes
When anything important to us changes, the first thing all of us want to know is ‘what is it so different from what we knew all these while?’… That’s exactly what is explored in this session — The changes from V2 to V3 of ITIL. Knowing about these changes is vital to organizations and individuals who are already using ITIL to their benefit.

Session-3 — Overview of ITIL® V3 lifecycle publications
At this stage of the seminar, the enthusiasm among the audience was evident. Obviously all wanted to know what is there in the new version of ITIL® and that’s what this session focused on - The new core practice publications followed by quickly looking at what the books covered and some key concepts and processes in each lifecycle stages

Session-4 — Impact of ITIL® V3 on ISO/IEC 20000
One of the popular questions everyone had, from the time the ITIL® refresh was announced and of course when we announced the seminar, was — How does the changes impact organizations who are certified on ISO/IEC 20000 or who are planning to achieve this certification? There is no better way to know this than hearing it form an experienced auditor from an organization which is into auditing and certifying business for centuries- DNV

Session-5 — Changes in ITIL Qualifications Scheme
Along with the refresh, this was another area which underwent a major revamp. Many of the delegates who registered for this seminar had one or the other ITIL® qualifications. Almost all of them had many questions such as the validity of their certifications and upgrading to the new version etc. Though there are no a concrete answers to all the questions today, knowing what is there in store and how the future is shaping up is always good. This was an interesting session!

Session-6 — Introduction to itSMF India
Most of us related to IT service management and ITIL® would know what itSMF is; how it operates; its member benefits etc. However, awareness about the India chapter of this forum and its activities are lacking in the Indian ITSM industry. Being a member organization and an ITSM service provider it is our duty to create this awareness. This session was about introducing the itSMF India chapter to the participants.

Speakers Profile
Vinod is Founding Member and Head of Professional Services in GLOPORE IMS. Prior to joining GLOPORE IMS as a partner, Vinod worked as Senior ITSM consultant in QAI and Microland. He also comes with strong IT Service management experience in organizations Like Wipro Technologies and IBM Global services
Benil is Senior ITSM Consultant in GLOPORE IMS, handling key customer engagements in ITSM consultancy and trainings. Prior to GLOPORE IMS, Benil was leading the ITSM Practice in Microland. His ITSM experience is enriched by his association with organizations like Accenture and Wipro Infotech.
Nandakumar is a certified Lead auditor for DNV India and is Station manager in-charge of the Bangalore Operations. He holds numerous certifications in the Management Systems including QMS / ISMS / ITSM / EMS / OHSAS / HACCP / Product Certification and Business Excellence. Prior to DNV, Nandakumar has worked in various capacities in global organizations like TUV, OMED Software, Deutsche Babcock and Ashok Leyland
Sandeep is Lead consultant in Quint and board member of itSMF India, At Quint, he handles various assignments in the areas of Service Support, Service Delivery, Assessments based on the Cobit framework, ITIL and readiness review for BS7799 / BS15000 accreditation.
